The Quadriclavio Choir, founded in 1995 by Francesco Scognamiglio and directed since 1998 by Maestro Lorenzo Bizzarri, has performed more than 245 concerts in thirty years of activity.
The choir is made up of non-professional singers but this does not mean that it has ever set itself limits in terms of its repertoire. In its short history it has become proficient in a different musical genres, from sacred and baroque music to opera.
The group, enthusiastic and versatile, has always warmly welcomed the chance of performing works that are not strictly part of their repertoire, such as songs from soundtracks, contemporary sacred works and minor operas.
In addition to giving regular performances of the most famous pieces of the classical a cappella repertoire, it includes among its performances the great Mass in B Minor, Jesu Meine Freude and the Magnificat by J. S. Bach, the Requiem Mass in D minor K 626, the Coronation Mass K 317 and the Vesperae solennes de Confessore by W. A. Mozart, the Ninth Symphony by Beethoven including performances at the Duse Theater in Bologna and the Taranto Concattedrale), the Stabat Mater and the Petite Messe Solennelle by G. In 2009 the choir took part in the premiere of the unpublished Nativity by Mons. Domenico Bartolucci and in 2013, in the Paul VI Hall in the Vatican, in the charity concert "La luce dei bambini" together with Andrea Bocelli.
Among the most prestigious collaborations are those with the Leipzig Opera Choir; the Warsaw University Choir; participation in the Salone dei 500 in Palazzo Vecchio in Florence at the Celebrity Night Fight charity evening conducted by Maestro Zubin Metha; and collaborations with Maestro Andrea Griminelli, in particular for the centenary of the end of the First World War in Vittorio Veneto and the great event, in November 2019, of the 60th birthday of Maestro Griminelli in Reggio Emilia with the presence of international music stars such as Sting, Bocelli, Zucchero, Renato Zero, Zamfir, Amii Stewart and the soprano Sumi Yo.
Since 2017, it has been an integral part of the Varignana Music Festival choir, which is annually entrusted with the opening concert of the prestigious musical festival with the performance of various opera pieces.
It has performed in various operas, including several times La Traviata by Verdi, L’elisir d’amore by Donizetti and the Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni, in prestigious venues such as the Teatro del Silenzio Lajatico with Placido Domingo and Andrea Bocelli; the Teatro Bonci in Cesena; the Verdi Theatre in Busseto, the Duse Theatre of Bologna, the Reggia di Colorno, and the Arena Plautina in Sarsina
